Community Advice Office
The People's Legal Centre's Community Advice Office plays a crucial role in our mission to increase access to justice for all. Our advice offices offer free legal assistance, providing guidance and support to individuals in need who may not have the means for expensive legal representation. Through these offices, we work to empower communities, helping them navigate legal challenges and ensuring they receive the justice they deserve.

The advice provided at our Community Advice Office comes from paralegals who have completed training through our People's Law program under the guidance of a legal professional. This training equips them with the knowledge and skills to address a variety of legal issues, from family and labour matters to broader social justice concerns. Our goal is to create a network of well-trained paralegals embedded within the communities they serve, acting as a bridge between the people and the legal system.

Currently based in Philippi, our first office marks the beginning of an ambitious vision to expand our reach. As the People's Legal Centre grows, we aim to establish more Community Advice Offices throughout Cape Town and eventually across South Africa. Each new office will extend our ability to provide accessible, reliable legal support to those who need it most, reinforcing our commitment to making justice a reality for all.
